Dr. Rayyan Alam is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with particular clinical interests in orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, facial trauma and benign pathology.
Dr. Alam earned her dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry, where she developed a strong foundation in comprehensive patient care and surgical dentistry. Following dental school, she completed a one-year general practice residency at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx. During her residency, she gained valuable experience caring for medically complex patients and developed a particular interest in the evaluation and surgical management of facial trauma. Her experience treating patients with traumatic facial injuries sparked an interest in the complex relationship between facial function, aesthetics and reconstruction, ultimately inspiring her to pursue advanced specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Alam went on to complete her residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Northwell Health, where she received comprehensive training in the full scope of the specialty. During her final year, she served as chief resident and received the honor of Resident of the Year. Her surgical education encompassed dentoalveolar surgery, anesthesia, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant pathology.
Dr. Alam practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, wisdom tooth removal, dental implant surgery, bone grafting, outpatient anesthesia and sedation, facial trauma and reconstruction, orthognathic surgery and the management of benign oral and maxillofacial pathology and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. She is particularly drawn to cases that require careful surgical planning and a comprehensive understanding of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the face and jaws. She is committed to providing individualized treatment plans that address each patient’s unique needs and goals.
